BlackBerry PRIV launch date confirmed

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – BLACKBERRY’S first Android-powered smartphone, PRIV, will be available in South Africa as of next week.

Launched globally on Monday, the device will be available at MTN, Vodacom and Cell C.

Pricing will be confirmed by carriers within the coming week, and pricing is carrier dependent.

According to the smartphone maker, the device combines the best of BlackBerry’s productivity, security and privacy features with the wide world of Google Play™ store apps.
PRIV is said to be the epitome of form and function.

Manufacturers said it has been engineered with the world’s finest technology and packaged in an ultra-thin device – including a dual-curved screen, touch and physical keyboards, state-of-the-art 18MP camera, and long-lasting battery – with unique tools that allow users to manage and control their privacy.

The introduction comes amid the smartphone losing its market share against rivals.
