Mahlambi, Mosimane bag monthly accolades

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – BIDVEST Wits striker, Phakamani Mahlambi, and Mamelodi Sundowns’s Pitso Mosimane have been named the Player and Coach of the Month for November-December 2015.

Mahlambi (18) is a first-time winner of the award.He scored three goals and played a vital role with a number of crucial assists for his title-chasing side during the period.

The Braamfontein-based team is a point behind log leaders Sundowns.Mahlambi shared the podium at the Premier Soccer League’s monthly awards ceremony with Mosimane.

The former national team coach has steered Sundowns to a ten-game unbeaten run in the Absa Premiership.Their results have been matched by an impressive style of football.

The judges praised Mosimane for his tactical acumen, bringing stability to the Sundowns team, consistency in team selection and getting the best out of his players.

He beat off competition from Muhsin Ertugral of Mpumalanga Black Aces and Bidvest Wits’ Gavin Hunt.

A panel of judges convened by renowned local coach, Farouk Khan, selected the winners.
