Leaders confirm Africa Invest Forum attendance

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – A NUMBER of Presidents have confirmed their attendance at next month’s Africa 2016 Investment Forum scheduled for Egypt next month.

Among these are John Mahama, Uhuru Kenyatta and Paul Kagame of Ghana, Kenya and Rwanda respectively.

On Thursday, organisers confirmed President Ali Bongo Ondimba of Gabon and Nigeria’s Muhammadu Buhari.

They will participate alongside host leader, Abdel Fateh El-Sisi.

Dr. Hazem Fahmy, the Secretary General of the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) confirmed the leaders’ presence.

“We are delighted that President Ali Bongo of Gabon and President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria have accepted our invitation to attend this special forum,” said Fahmy.

The two-day meeting in Sharm el Sheikh will bring together over 800 high level government and business leaders to discuss projects and ventures across a range of sectors in the continent.

“We need greater economic engagement to accelerate trade and investment throughout Africa. We have considerable expertise and know-how in some important areas such as healthcare and logistics,” added Fahmy.

Africa 2016 will be held on February 20 to 21.

Attendance is by invitation.
