Teams finalise squads for CHAN 2016

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THE final squads for the Orange African Nations Championship (CHAN) Rwanda 2016 have been finalised.

This paves way for the resumption of the biennial tournament on Saturday.

A total 368 players from the 16 participating teams have been registered for the fourth edition.

The deadline for the submission of squad list was January 6.

The tournament kicks off with hosts Rwanda playing Ivory Coast.

Other Group A contenders, Gabon and Morocco will also feature.

Group B consists of Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia and Cameroon while Tunisia, Nigeria, Guinea and Niger are in Group C.

Zambia and Zimbabwe will contest Group D with Mali and Uganda.

The tournament features players playing their trade in their home countries.

DRC Congo, Libya (holders) and Tunisia have won the previous editions.
