Soweto Derby tickets on sale

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – TICKETS for the next Soweto Derby are now on sale.

Hosts Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs will contest the eagerly-anticipated clash at the First National Bank Stadium on January 30.

Kickoff is 15h30.

Thandi Merafe, Pirates Media Officer, confirmed the tickets had gone on sale and are available nationwide from Computicket and Shoprite Checkers outlets. Tickets are selling between 10 (juveniles) and R80 (Level1).

“As the nation stands poised to see how this ongoing tale of bitter rivalry will go, Bucs fans and football lovers at large are encouraged to hurry to the nearest Computicket and Shoprite Checkers outlets across the country, to purchase their tickets,” she said.

The reverse fixture ended 3-1 in favour of the Buccaneers, as Pirates are also known.

Chiefs, the Glamour Boys immediately bounced back, barely edging out Pirates with a penalty shoot-out victory in the Telkom Knockout semi-final.

The Soweto Derby is rated among the most prominent fixtures in world football.

“Rivalries will burn bright as old foes do battle again at the end of the month,” Merafe said.
