Italy, Nigeria discuss mineral development

LAGOS, (CAJ News) – ITALY and Nigeria are discussing areas of mutual interest in the development of solid minerals.

The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has said this when he received Italian Ambassador, Fulvio Rustico, who paid a courtesy visit in Abuja.

The Italian Ambassador, while congratulating the minister on the assumption of office, said Nigeria and Italy had excellent relations, with the West African country a key partner to Italy.

Rustico said Italy was looking forward to having a closer relation with Nigeria, in all field and that minerals which is one of the top priority of government is top on the list.

He added that areas of cooperation between Nigeria and Italian companies/entrepreneurs would be discussed as well.

The Ambassador remarked that Nigeria is a rich country with huge possibilities.

“This talking together will open discussion on new horizons,” said Rustico.

Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Solid Minerals Development, Abubakar Bawa Bwari, also attended the meeting in Abuja.
