Lagos whizzkid is Africa student of the year

LAGOS, (CAJ News) – TEENAGE sensation, Anesi Ikhianosime, has been awarded the Africa Most Innovative Student accolade at the All Africa Students Union (AASU) Awards.

The award conferred in Ghana is in recognition to his amazing achievements that belie his age.

The 13-year-old is a co-developer of Crocodile Browser Lite, the internet browser.He is a student at the Greensprings School, Anthony Campus in Lagos.

Meanwhile, fellow countryman, Prof Peter Okebukola, the former Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at AASU Awards.

Organisers said this was in recognition of continual support to the AASU.

The awards were held in line with the Annual Africa Education and Leadership Award.

Some 16 awards in four categories were conferred.Among the biggest winners were former Zambian President, Kenneth Kaunda(Pan Africanist of the Year), Senegal President Mack Sall (AfricaPresident of the Year), Ghana (Africa Most Supportive Government of theYear) and Koffi Annan (Science and Culture Personality of the Year). – CAJ News
