Memorandum drawn to demand rugby reforms

CAPE TOWN, (CAJ News) – THE Congress of South African trade Unions (COSATU) and stakeholders sport scheduled to hand over a memorandum to the South African Rugby Union.
The memorandum will contain the demands that the union and a section of the rugby community has been raising since the World Cup, regarding the lack of transformation.
Central to this demand is a National Economic Development and Labour Council Section 77 application that will compel SARU, Government and the sponsors to negotiate a fair dispensation for the future of rugby.Tony Ehrenreich, COSATU Western cape spokesperson, said the venue for the handover will be communicated with the release of the memorandum to the media tomorrow at 12h00.
“This memorandum must be tabled at the SARU Annual general meeting on Friday 11 December 2015,” he added.The memorandum follow the controversial team selection policy critics believe is entrenching white dominance.Some sponsors have pulled out of the sport citing lack of transformation.
