Absa appoints Mkhize as KZN leader

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – ABSA Bank has appointed Faisal Mkhize as the Provincial Managing Executive in KwaZulu-Natal, a province that is one of the regional growth markets for the bank in South Africa.

“I am excited to be back in KwaZulu-Natal and to use my skills and expertise to deepen our understanding of the needs and expectations of clients across various segments,” said Mkhize upon appointment.

“I am humbled to lead the bank to deliver on our customer-led, centrally solutioned and locally owned and executed strategy. Banking at a regional and provincial level is my passion and we will always endeavour to serve our clients, stakeholders, employees and communities so that they can prosper.”

Faisal has a 19-year banking career, having served as a Regional Executive for Private Banking in Gauteng North, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and, most recently, North West.

Prior to this, Mkhize was Managing Director of Barclays Bank Mozambique, one of the 12 African countries where Barclays Africa Group has operations.

He has served in a number of executive management roles such as market leadership and change, public sector banking, small business, corporate and business banking.

“I have a passion for small business and client engagement at all levels and with the ever changing banking environment, we need to make the lives of our clients and customers even simpler,” said Mkhize.
