ABUJA, (CAJ News) – TROOPS have repelled attacks by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect in Gulak and Gajigana area of Borno State.

The attack and subsequent resistance by the troops were confirmed on Wednesday at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

The Defence said the quick reimbursement of more soldiers to the area led to the killing of three Boko Haram terrorists, while quite a number
escaped with gunshot wounds.

The Defence revealed that a soldier died in the battle.

It said the towns are calm and the situation is under the control.

“The changing tactics of the Boko Haram Terrorists requires the collective efforts of the locals in giving timely information to the Military and other security agencies for swift response in order to get rid of the terrorists because these are people easily blends with locals,” the Defence Headquarters added.

It said the military would continue to do all it could with the support of the locals in order to protect lives and property.
