Counterfeit TKO ticket traders face arrest
JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – FOOTBALL followers have been dissuaded from purchasing Telkom Knockout (TKO) Final tickets from unscrupulous traders.
Premier Soccer League Acting Chief Executive, Mato Madlala, hinted these traders and holders of such tickets will be arrested.
The tickets for the final scheduled for the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on December 9 are sold-out, raising possibilities devious individuals would seek to cash in by selling unsuspecting followers fake tickets.
“Through our cooperation with the South African Police Service and other security service providers, we will adopt a zero tolerance to fraudulent tickets. We urge our people not to purchase tickets from the black market,” Madlala said.
Meanwhile, tickets for the decider featuring Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns were sold out within three hours of release on Tuesday.
The iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium has a carrying capacity of 54 000.
“We have been overwhelmed by this positive response from the public. We knew that we are going to get a capacity crowd but we never anticipated selling out the whole stadium in few hours. This has been a pleasant surprise,” said Madlala.
