ABUJA, (CAJ News) – NIGERIAN President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his government’s commitment to support political stability and maintain peace in Africa.

Buhari stated this at an audience with Special Envoys of President Pierre Nkurunziza of Burundi.

He said that under his leadership, Nigeria would remain at the forefront of efforts to achieve enduring peace, security and progress in all African nations.

He declared that African leaders must all do all possible to achieve greater peace, political stability and security within their countries so that they could give more attention to the urgent task of improving the living conditions of their people.

The President thanked the envoys, Maj.-Gen. Evariste Ndayishimiye and Ambassador Dieudonne Kwizera, for briefing him on the recent political
developments in Burundi and expressed the hope all stakeholders in the country would resolve their differences peacefully and learn to work
together for the development of their country.

Buhari also welcomed ongoing efforts by Nkurunziza towards peace and national reconciliation in Burundi.
