ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE winners of the 20-team Nigeria’s  Glo Premiership could be confirmed this weekend with a match to spare.

With only two games before the curtain comes down the elite league, Enyimba require a single point to wrap up their first title in five years at the expense of second-placed Warri Wolves.

Coincidentally, the two teams clash in a top-of-the-table clash with Enyimba at home.

Ahead of the Sunday clash, Enyimba leads the 20-team league log with 68 points from 36 matches, six points ahead of their closest rivals.

Wolves would thus be looking for nothing short than victory to ensure the title will be decided on the final day.

Meanwhile, this past weekend, Wolves massacred Bayelsa United 4 – 0 while Enyimba narrowly beat Abia Warriors 1-0 to move closer to winning the league championships.

Elsewhere, 3SC beat FC Ifeanyiubah 2 – 1, Heartland dismissed Giwa FC 3 – 2 while Kwara United edged FC Taraba 1 – 0.

In other weekend matches, Nasarawa United thrashed Sharks 3 – 0, Rangers were held to a 2 – 2 draw by Akwa United while Wikki Tourists capitalised on home advantage to beat Dolphins 2 – 0.

The premiership has lined up on two midweek matches.

FC Ifeanyiubah will play El-Kanemi Warriors while Sunshine Stars entertain Rangers on Wednesday.
