EXCLUSIVE: Striker Ndoro frustrated at Pirates
By SAVIOUS KWINIKA
JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – PROLIFIC Zimbabwe striker, Tendai Ndoro, is frustrated at South Africa side, Orlando Pirates, because of a lack of game time.
According to informants, he is regretting the move he had thought would boost his career.
Since moving from Mpumalanga Black Aces towards the start of the 2015/16 season, Ndoro has only featured twice for Pirates, spending most of the campaign in the stands.
Head coach, Eric Tinkler, who is under fire from the Pirates fans for his questionable selection policy, is reportedly adding to the frustration by not communicating with the striker on his predicament.
“We all know that Tendai is a sharp shooting striker, but the coach always has other ideas,” said a source as Pirates’ horror league campaign continued with a 2-0 loss to Golden Arrows on Wednesday.
“What is worrying the player most is that the coach does not explain to him (Tendai) what could be his problem so that he rectifies it.
“Tendai is deeply frustrated, and so are other players who when they see Pirates losing to smaller sides where we know if Tendai was in the starting line-up he would have scored to give the team victory,” said one source.
Another said the Zimbabwean was contemplating leaving Pirates and at the end of the season and head back to Aces, who have reportedly shown interest in having him to complement deadly Zambian forward, Collins Mbesuma.
Fans are equally frustrated by the sidelining of Ndoro, especially at this time of the season when Pirates strikers are firing blanks in the league.
Pirates are a lowly 13th and have a demanding fixture against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.
“Ndoro’s lack of game time does not make sense. Why buy a prolific striker from another team only to kill his talent? If Pirates are no longer interested in him, they must let him go elsewhere where his skills and goalscoring prowess would be appreciated, than making him rusty,” said Pirates supporter Izithakazelo Ndlovu.
Ndoro is a revered striker in Zimbabwe, where he has previously finished the top goal scorer.
