Late Cape Town footballer mourned

Cecil loloCAPE TOWN, (CAJ News) – CONDOLENCES are pouring in for the late Ajax Cape Town player, Cecil Lolo, who has been killed in a car accident.

The defender was 27.

The Democratic Alliance, which is the major party in the Western Cape, sent its tributes.

“The untimely death of the brave player Lolo has come as a shock to me and the DA,” said Ricardo Mackenzie, DA Western Cape Spokesperson on Cultural Affairs and Sports.

“We also extend our condolences to Ajax Cape Town Football Club, Lolo’s  friends and loved ones, all of whom now suffer from the loss following this horrific accident. We hope that those affected by his passing will soon find peace during this challenging time.”

Lolo, born in Khayelitsha where the accident occured, was a key member of the youthful Cape Town outfit and a star performer in the recent MTN 8 triumph over favourites Kaizer Chiefs.

He was touted as a future national team star.

“As the DA, we would like to thank Lolo for being such a great role model for the people of Cape Town, and hope that those affected by his passing will soon find peace,” said Mackenzie.
