Eskom announces new executive team

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – ESKOM has appointed a new executive committee to steer the power utility’s turnaround strategy.
The members are Anoj Singh (Chief Financial Officer), Abram Masango (Group Executive for Group Capital), Matshela Koko (Group Executive for Generation), Thava Govender (Group Executive for Transmission), Mongezi Ntsokolo (Group Executive for Distribution), Ayanda Noah (Group Executive for Customer Services) and Elsie Pule (Acting Group Executive for Human Resources).
Group Chief Executive, Brian Molefe, confirmed the appointments.
Additionally, Molefe confirmed some new positions in the office of the Group Chief Executive.
These are Freddy Ndou (Divisional Executive for Strategy Support), Brigadier General (Ret.) Tebogo Rakau (Divisional Executive for Security) while Suzanne Daniels assumed responsibility as the new Company Secretary on October 1.
“The move to confirm the members of the executive committee is our commitment to further stabilise and strengthen Eskom’s leadership to ensure that all hands are on deck to deliver on our mandate. We remain cognisant of Eskom’s role in South Africa’s success in ensuring that we power the economy of this country in support of the National Development Plan (NDP),” said Molefe.
Baldwin Ngubane, Chairman of the Eskom Board, welcomed the appointees.
“We are looking forward to their contribution in our efforts to continue with providing all South Africans with the much-needed electricity to power our economy,” he said.
Eskom is eager to regain its fortunes after years characterised by irregularities that have left the country battling a power crisis.
