West Africa medic summit begins in Nigeria

LAGOS, (CAJ News) – STAKEHOLDERS in the region’s healthcare industry have converged in Nigeria’s most populous city ,Lagos for the Medic West Africa Exhibition and Congress (MWA).

Starting today (Wednesdaoy) and ending Friday, the summit comes at a time experts believe that patients, in partnership with their health care provider, should have a say in the way their care is administered and managed.

Organisers said this partnership would improve health outcomes andfacilitate the treatment process in West Africa.Paelon Memorial Clinic (PMC) is organising the event at the Eko International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“In PMC, we take the time to listen, educate and inform our patients aboutevery step of their treatment process,” said PMC Dr Sylva Cole, Partnerand Anaesthetist.

“We honor our patient’s wishes and we even encourage them to request for a second opinion if they need the reassurance. In patient care, we put protocols in place for patients to carefully select their practitioner,and discuss and make suggestions regarding their treatment process andterms of care,”

More than 350 of the industry’s leading local and international manufacturers and distributors will showcase the latest innovative healthcare products and services to more than 4,000 attendees during thethree-day exhibition.Medic West Africa also comprises of the largest IVD & medical laboratory event in West Africa, MEDLAB.Both Medic West Afirca and MEDLAB West Africa are free-to-attend.

This year’s Medic West Africa event will feature free-to-attend industrymasterclasses conducted by the industry’s leading companies healthcaretrade professionals.
