Terrorists flee advancing troops in Borno

Troops destroy Boko Haram fuel depotFrom AUGUSTINE OSAYANDE in Abuja, Nigeria

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – SUSPECTED members of Boko Haram group have reportedly abandoned their locations at Nafari and Gonin Kurmi in Borno State.

Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, confirmed the development.

He said this was a result of the continued offensives against the terrorists by advancing troops.

He said the suspected Boko Haram terrorists fled and abandoned their locations at Nafari and Gonin Kurmi in a haste, leaving various food items and personal effects as they fled to Sambisa forest.

The Army spokesman added that troops would continue the momentum until all terrorists and their camps are no more in any part of Nigerian territory.

He called on citizens to continue co-operating with security agencies through provision of timely and credible information about any known terrorists, their hideouts and collaborators.
