France slams Boko Haram attack on Chad troops

LAGOS, (CAJ News) – FRANCE has condemned the deadly attack Nigerian terror group, Boko Haram, has carried out in the Lake Chad region.

The attack, carried out on Tuesday, against a position of the Chadian armed forces, killed 11 soldiers and left 13 others injured.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement made available to CAJ News, offered the government’s condolences to the families of victims and Chadian authorities.

“France assures Chad of solidarity in the fight against terrorism,” read a statement.

Meanwhile, 17 terrorists were killed during the attack on the Chadian troops.

The area has seen a series of raids by the Boko Haram insurgents that are moving out of their former strongholds to strike in Nigeria’s neighbours.

Chad is a former French colony .
