Power utility reports no load shedding today

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – CHANCES of load shedding are diminishing by the day as power supplies stabilise.

“No load shedding was implemented today (Monday) as Eskom continues to make progress with its programme of planned maintenance,” the company stated.

The improving supplies come on the back of lowering demand as temperatures peak.

Maintenance work at the Cahora Bassa in neighbouring Mozambique has also boosted stability.

“Eskom would like to thank our customers for using electricity sparingly as this goes a long a way in helping us manage the demand and supply of electricity and to eliminate the need for load shedding. Eskom will continue to provide regular updates on the state of the power system through various media platforms,” the company said.
