Forces recapture Nigerial’s economic hub

ABUJA, (CAJ News) -NIGERIAN TROOPS have announced the recapture of Banki town, an economic and strategic town in Borno State.
Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, confirmed the breakthrough.He said the gallant troops had completed exploiting through the town and terrorists’ famous Islamic School (Boko Haram Islamiyah) building.
Usman added that the soldiers had destroyed seven Boko Haram camps and successfully detonated seven Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
“The troops have succeeded in discovering and detonating 13 IEDs between Darel Jamal and Banki,” Usman added.
He said during the encounter to recapture the town, several Boko Haram terrorists were killed and several others were captured alive between Banki junction and Ngorosoye.
The Army spokesman said the recapture of the strategic town was facilitated by concerted efforts of the Nigerian Air Force and close liaison with the Cameroon’s Army.Banki town is noted for major economic and trading activities between Nigeria, Cameroon and Central African countries.
“The recapturing of this town, apart from restoring Nigeria’s territory law, would improve the economic activities in that area,” Usman said.
