LAGOS, (CAJ News) – DANGOTE Cement has been honoured as the 2015 AfricanBusiness of the Year as Nigeria dominated the just-ended African BusinessAwards in New York in the United States.

The judging panel applauded Dangote Cement for its continued drive to develop new tailored products, gain market share and expand its activities throughout the continent.

Led by Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, the Nigerian cement company plans to expand production in several countries in anticipation of an infrastructure and construction boom.

Meanwhile, there were more winners from Nigeria in the form of Guaranty Trust Bank (Award for Good Governance) and The Nigerian Stock Exchange (Award for Best Corporate Social Responsibility).

Other winners were Zimbabwean Strive Masiyiwa (Lifetime Achievement),Helen Hai (Business Icon), South African Daphne Mashile Nkosi (MostOutstanding Woman in Business) and Tanzania’s Mohammed Dewji (BusinessLeader of the Year).Award for Innovation went to Abellon Clean Energy Ghana while Bimamobilewas named Insurance Company and Initiative of the Year.
