Eagles squad confirmed for Belgium duty

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – NIGERIA /SUPER Eagles Head Coach, Sunday Oliseh, has listed goalkeeper and skipper, Vincent Enyeama, John Mikel Obi, and forwards  Victor Moses and Odion Ighalo among 24 players to take part in upcoming
friendly matches.

Nigeria faces Democratic Republic of Congo and Cameroon in Belgium next month.

Enyeama is joined by England –based Carl Ikeme in the goalkeeping department after he kept a clean sheet in his debut.

He was impressive between the sticks against Tanzania and Niger Republic in the internationals played earlier this month.

Home-based stars, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Femi Thomas, are also in the squad called up for duty.

Former junior international defender Abdullahi Shehu gets his first opportunity at senior level, and Moses Simon, who scored against Niger Republic, is also considered, alongside home boys Chima Akas, Austin
Oboroakpo, Paul Onobi and Prince Aggrey.

There is also room for Watford FC of England striker Odion Ighalo.

The Super Eagles play the Leopards of the DRC on October 8 and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon three days later.

The matches are part of plans by the Nigeria Football Federation to entrench stronger bond and cohesion among the relatively new group.
