Load shedding further ruled out

Eskom power Alert

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THERE is little risk of load shedding on Wednesday after Eskom reported stability in the power system. However, the system remains vulnerable, meaning that any extra load or faults in the system may necessitate the need to implement load shedding, the company said.

“In summer the demand for electricity is high for most of the day predominantly due to the increased usage of air-conditioners, geysers and pool pumps,” said the company.r

In addition, planned generation maintenance increases significantly in summer, and we have less capacity to supply demand. This means that the risk of load shedding remains high throughout the day in summer until10pm.

Eskom said this made it important for consumers to continue to reduce consumption during summer too and remember the call to “Live Lightly”.“Make a positive difference by reducing your electricity usage at home and at the office, and encourage your friends and family to do the same,” Eskom appealed to clients.– CAJ News
