Power summit attracts global financiers

LAGOS, (CAJ News) – THE upcoming Annual Powering Africa has received a major boost after two leading global financial institutions confirmed their participation.

Organizers of the event scheduled for September 14 and 15 said the International Finance Corporation and World Bank Group are confirmed as participants ahead of the meeting at the Hilton Transcorp in Abuja.

“The international investment community is surely taking notice,” EnergyNet, the organisers said.

Other development financiers that havad been confirmed earlier include FMO, GIZ and KfW confirmed, and the African Finance Corporation.

These will lead discussions on releasing private sector capital.

Other participants that had been previously confirmed include the newly appointed Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission, Aisha Hassan-Baba will join the delegation, as well as the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, represented by Obinna Ihedioha.
