Egypt withdraw from African Games

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – EGYPT has announced its withdrawal from both the women’s and men’s football events of the African Games set for Congo Brazzaville.

The two teams Egypt eliminated in the final round of qualifiers, Senegal (Women) and Burundi (Men) also decided against replacing Egypt due to the short notice.

This leaves Group B (Women) with Cameroon, Ghana and South Africa.

Group B of the men’s edition is left with Ghana, Senegal and Nigeria.

The African Games, formerly All Africa Games, will be held from September 6 -18 in Brazzaville.
