Regional force strengthens for terrorists

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Chiefs of Defence Staff from the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) member countries have finalised details of deployment ofa joint force to fight Boko Haram terrorists.

This follows a meeting held in N’Djamena, the capital of Chad Republic, toexplore solutions to the organisation that has sworn allegiance to ISIS and had killed hundreds of people through suicide bombings in the last three months.

The meeting discussed modality for the deployment of joint force to two command posts in Nigeria and Cameroon.Nigeria Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin joined otherregional military chiefs to deliberate on agreement to accelerate thedeployment of the 8 700 strong multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF).

Olonisakin has been working round the clock towards actualising thePresidential directive to end Boko Haram terrorists activities withinthree months.Officers seconded to the MNJTF in N’Djamena were ordered to reportimmediately to their post, as operation at the Force Headquarters has commenced.MNJTF Commander and other senior military delegates attended the meeting in Chad.The LCBC members countries comprise Cameroon, Chad, Niger, Nigeria andBenin Republic.
