Gor Mahia vs city starsFrom MARIA MACHARIA in Nairobi, Kenya
NAIROBI, (CAJ News) – DEFENDING Kenya Premiership champions, Gor Mahia,
are on the verge of retaining the title after extending their lead at the
top of the log.

The Nairobi side played to a 1-1 draw against relegation bound Nakuru All
Stars in a balanced encounter at Nyayo Stadium on Wednesday.

Gor Mahia’s Josephat Oyugi had earlier beaten his own goalkeeper to give
Nakuru All Stars a rare lead while the visiting team levelled terms in the
69th minute through Bebetto Lnamba.

The victory saw Gor Mahia take its tally to 56 points from 22 matches played.

On the contrary , Nakuru All Stars’ failure to win worsened the threat to
their status in the Kenya Premier League (KPL) next season.

Despite holding the champions in the only match for Wednesday, Nakuru All
Stars remained bottom of the 16-team league with a meagre 15 points from
23 matches. – CAJ News
