JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) -THE Absa Premiership will this weekend take a recess to make way for the MTN8 semifinals.

It will however resume on Tuesday next week with a fixture between former champions Orlando Pirates and Chippa United at Orlando Stadium.

Pirates are on a low following a dramatic 1-0 loss to championship hopefuls Supersport United in a match that was played on Tuesday but spilled to Wednesday after a power blackout at Peter Mokaba.

Chippa enjoyed a decent start on the other hand, holding champions Kaizer Chiefs to a stalemate at the Nelson Mandela Bay.

Meanwhile, this Saturday, Ajax Cape Town and Bidvest Wits will contest an MTN 8 semifinal at Coetzenburg Stadium in Cape Town.

Holders Chiefs will visit fellow crowd-pullers Bloemfontein Celtic at Free State Stadium.
