Military thwarts terrorists invading Borno barrack

ABUJA, (CAJ News) -THE Military has reportedly repelled an attack by suspected Boko Haram members planning to launch a fresh invasion around Maimalari barrack in Maiduguri.
Residents from the city, which is the capital of Borno State, confirmed the developments.Abba Yunus, said the military had engaged in heavy exchange of fire to scare off the insurgents who were on the prowl at the outskirts of the town of Bale Mammanti.
“Because the gunshots went on for about 30 minutes, we thought that the town was under attack. We even thought that the insurgents were attempting to take over the Maimalari Barrack,” he said.”
The military was repelling them off but it was discovered that the soldiers were actually shooting to scare them off.”A resident of the community that fled into Maiduguri, Ibrahim Kyari, said the members of Boko Haram group killed six civilians and abducted four women in the town.
“We fled into bushes in the night because we knew that we are the target and when we came out, all our cattle, rams and foodstuffs were carted away,” Kyari said.He explained that among the six persons killed by the insurgents were four men and two children.
