Skywise expands Cape Town-Joburg operation

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – SKYWISE has increased the frequency of flights between Cape Town and Johannesburg in honour of Women’s Day and rising demand for seats.

The low-cost airline has increased the frequency with one more return flight.

On Friday at 14.55 Flight S8 135 departs Johannesburg for Cape Town, and the following Monday Flight S8 136 leaves Cape Town at 15.30 for Johannesburg.

Officials said the flight should prove popular with an airline now known for its value-added services of free luggage, free cup of coffee/tea and VIP red carpet treatment.

“Seat demand is high going into Women’s Day weekend. The added flight should enhance travel for many passengers seeking for an experience combining low-cost fares with several extras at no charge,” commented joint chairs J. Malik and Tabassum Qadir.

“Skywise is thrilled to align with a day dedicated to remembering and celebrating the struggles and contributions of South African women for their freedom.”

Women’s Day will be celebrated on Sunday. The country celebrates the achievements of the women of South Africa and comes together to advance women’s struggles for empowerment and their rights to full equality.

On August 9 1956, some 20 000 women made their way to the Union Building in Pretoria in protest against the proposed amendments to the Urban Areas Act of 1950, commonly referred to as the “pass laws”
