JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THE draw for the MTN 8 semifinals has been conducted in Johannesburg.

Bloemfontein Celtic have been handed a tricky assignment against defending champions Kaizer Chiefs while a potential thriller is on the cards when Ajax Cape Town play Bidvest Wits.

Celtic and Wits will enjoy home advantage in the first legs.

The first leg will be played on August 15 and 16 while the second leg matches will be on the 29th and 30th.

The draw follows exciting last eight matches played earlier this week.

Ajax, the youthful Cape Town side, booked a berth in the semis with a solitary-goal victory over fancied Orlando Pirates on Tuesday at Orlando Stadium.

On the same evening Wits secured a 3-1 home win over Supersport United.

There was more drama a day later as Chiefs survived a scare before knocking Maritzburg United 5-3 in extra time at First National Bank Stadium.

Celtic continued their newly-found dominance over big-spending Mamelodi Sundowns prevailing 4-2 on penalties after a one-all draw.

Winners of the MTN 8 “Wafa Wafa” tournament pocket R8 million while the seven other qualifiers bank R800 000.
