JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – CONGOLESE footballer, Rudy Guelord Bhebey Ndey is steadily undergoing treatment at the Air Force Specialized Hospital (AFSH) in the New Cairo suburb of the Egyptian capital, following a nasty injury this past weekend.
The AC Leopards captain, fell awkwardly on his head after 17 minutes as he tried to avoid a collision with Zamalek goalkeeper Ahmed Shenawy in their CAF Confederation Cup Group B Day 3 clash on Sunday, at the Petro Sport Stadium in Cairo.
The 25-year-old was subsequently replaced by Kader Bidimbou with Zamalek going on to win 2-0.
In a follow-up to the situation, CAF Medical Manager, Boubakary Sidiki visited the medical facility on Monday afternoon to get first-hand information on the update of the player’s health.
He has undergone surgery.
“He is receiving the necessary medical care for such a situation in excellent conditions. The personnel (AFSH) have been very supportive and professional in their approach, giving him all the attention and care needed. Both teams (Zamalek and AC Leopards) are working hand-in-hand to get him back to his best,” said Sidiki.
In a show of support, Zamalek captain Hazem Emam led his colleagues to visit Ndey at the hospital.
