Zim beat India by 10 runs in T20 series

HARARE, (CAJ News) – HOST Zimbabwe beat India by 10 runs to force a 1-1 draw in the Twenty20 series cricket strongly contested at Harare Sports Club on Sunday.

Despite losing all three One Day Internationals (ODI) to India at the Bulawayo Sports Club, Zimbabwe turned on the pendulum with a 145-7 in the final match against India’s 135-9.

Leg-spinner Graeme Cremer took 3-18 for Zimbabwe while opening batsman Chamu Chibhabha scored 67 from 51 balls with nine fours to hold together Zimbabwe’s innings.

India, which fielded an under-strength side settled for 135-9 with their marksman Robin Uthappa managing 42.

Other outstanding Indian cricket players comprised Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohit Sharma who both recorded two wickets each while Chibhabha managed half-century.
