JOHANNESBURG – ANDRE Bernard from Durban was selected as the winner of the R1 million prize (about US$100,000) in the MTN Quiz4Moola competition.

Gordon Gcwabaza from Soweto won the runner’s up prize of an all-expenses family trip to Disneyland in the United States.

MTN launched the Quiz4Moola competition in March this year.

The knowledge-based competition rewards customers with points for each correct answer and bonus points for getting a stipulated number of consecutive answers right.

After opting in, contestants received trivia questions on a range of different topics, which include general trivia, science, nature, sports and technology.

“At MTN, we believe that being brainy shouldn’t just be for impressing others. Quiz4Moola has given our subscribers the opportunity to showcase their aptitude and get rewarded for it. We are pleased with the enthusiastic feedback we have received from our customers on this competition,” says Larry Annetts, Chief Marketing Officer: MTN South Africa.

Annetts announced that the Quiz4Moola will be extended to 30 September due to popular demand. The extended competition will have new prizes which include 85 x R15 000 daily prizes, 14 x R50 000 weekly prizes, 3 x R100 000 monthly prizes and a R1 million grand prize.
