JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THE MTN Group has announced the resignation of Ahmad Farroukh, Chief Executive Officer of MTN South Africa.
The resignation is effective July 31.
“This was a difficult decision to take for Ahmad, but unavoidable due to personal and family reasons,” says MTN Group President and CEO, Sifiso Dabengwa.
Dabengwa said a successor to Farroukh would be announced as soon as the new appointment was finalised.
“On behalf of the MTN leadership, we thank Ahmad for his contribution and wish him success with his future endeavours,” concluded Dabengwa.
Farroukh’s resignation comes amid workers at the company engaging on a months-long strike.
