DURBAN, (CAJ News) – CRUCIAL meeting between President Jacob Zuma and the African National Congress (ANC) branches in troubled eThekwini Region has been postponed until further notice, a senior official told CAJ News on Wednesday.
ANC KwaZulu Natal Spokesman, Sicelo Khuzwayo, said scheduled meeting had been cancelled to enable president Zuma participate in the ruling party’s national meetings with the KZN provincial leadership.
“The meeting, which forms part of the ANC’s engagement with provinces, was scheduled to take place this afternoon (Wednesday) but the leadership felt that there are still more organisational issues the National Officials had to discuss with the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) before the meeting with branches takes place,” said Khuzwayo.
He said the ANC national leadership, in conjunction with the KZN provincial executive would announce a date for another meeting following the postponement.
“The PEC is currently meeting with the National Officials where a variety of organisational issues are being discussed.
“The meeting will also deal with issues of promoting unity that will see the ANC continuing to be a coherent and united organisation that has been championing the needs of the people for decades,”Khuzwayo said.
