RUSTENBURG, (CAJ News) – FAVOURITES Zimbabwe have booked a berth in the Council of Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) quarter final following their 1-0 victory over Seychelles.

A solitary goal by Talent Chawapiwa in the 53rd minute settled the tightly-contested Group A tie at Moruleng Stadium in Rustenburg on Tuesday.

The match, which started on a faster pace so both teams implementing the attacking brand of football ending the first 45 minutes goalless.

However, the four-time COSAFA champions upped their game when they pinned the Indian islanders on their half in the first 15 minutes of the second stanza resulting in the goal.

Zimbabwe will wrap up their match against Namibia on Thursday in a match that will be a mere formality for the Warriors.

In another match at the same venue, Namibia beat Mauritius 2-0 to enhance their chances of qualifying for the last eight.
