COSAFA Cup: Swazi, Madagascar win

RUSTENBURG, (CAJ News) – MADAGASCAR have moved to the top of the Council of Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) Cup Group B following the first round of matches in the group played at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace.
The islanders, who are making a return to the regional tournament after a seven-year absence, came from behind to defeat Lesotho 2-1 in the earlier kick-off on Monday.
Lesotho scored in the first half through Thapelo Tale but Madagascar replied through Sarivahy Vombola and Lantonirina Rabehasinmbola.
Meanwhile, in a later kickoff, Swaziland edged East African guest nation, Tanzania by a solitary goal.
Sifiso Mabila scored in the second half.
On Tuesday, Zimbabwe will want to build on their opening day 2-0 win over Mauritius when they meet another island nation in Seychelles (kick-off 17h00 local time) at the Moruleng Stadium.
Namibia will want to make up for the disappointment of missing out on an opening game win when they meet Mauritius at the same venue (kick-off 19h30 local time; 17h30 GMT).
