ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Nigerian army has not suffered any causality during the recent repelling of terrorists from the Borno State, a spokesman said.

“We did not lose any soldier in Maiduguri attack,” the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, confirmed.

The army spokesman also confirmed that the military succeeded in bombing the groups of the insurgents who attempted to enter Maiduguri through the cashew garden at the Kayamla Village located at the outskirts of Maiduguri.

The village is about 25 kilometers away from the state capital.

Usman said the military deployed sophisticated and modern weapons that were newly acquired to engage the insurgents along the dredges dug at the borders to Maiduguri.

Usman noted that the engagement at the dredges culminated in the loud noise the people of the town heard on Wednesday.

“He said everything is under control and now calm and the 24-hour curfew imposed on the city on Thursday morning will be lifted as soon as the situation improved,” he added.
