LAGOS, (CAJ News) – SEVEN Energy International Limited, the indigenous Nigerian oil and gas development, production and gas distribution company, has won an accolade at the 2015 Sub-Sahara Upstream Oil and Gas Summit and Exhibition in Ghana.

The firm won the Investment in Gas Infrastructure in Sub-Sahara Africa Award held in the capital Accra.

Phillip Ihenacho, Chief Executive Officer, Seven Energy, expressed delight at the company’s efforts are being acknowledged across Africa.

“This award is recognition of the role that Seven Energy is playing in the development of Nigeria’s gas resource. Our commitment remains firm in driving and expanding industrialisation in Nigeria through efficient supply of gas to power stations and industrial customers.

“As a reliable and valued partner of our communities, we will continue to develop Nigeria’s gas resource to generate wealth for the company, our host communities and Nigeria as a whole,” Ihenacho said.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Sub-Sahara Africa Upstream Oil and Gas Summit, Dapo Ayoola, described the award to Seven Energy as befitting.

He said the summit celebrated industry leaders who had contributed in unique ways to the growth and sustainability of upstream oil and gas ventures in the sub-Sahara Africa.

“The award is given in recognition of Seven Energy’s massive investment in unlocking the potentials of Nigeria’s gas market,” said Ayoola.

Seven Energy has recorded a number of successes such as supply of gas to Ibom Power and Calabar NIPP as well as the delivery of gas to Notor eChemical Industries Plc and Unicem cement plant.

The award comes after the company was named the Indigenous Firm of the Year Award conferred by Petroleum Africa in December.
