BREAKING: Curfew imposed in Maiduguri after terror threat

ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Nigerian Army has imposed a 24-hour curfew in Maiduguri following attempts by Boko Haram to take over the Borono State capital.
Colonel Tukur Gusau, Deputy Director Army Public Relations 7 Division in Maiduguri, confirmed the restrictions on Thursday morning.
He said the curfew was imposed to protect lives and property of innocent and law abiding people of Maiduguri.
Gusau added that the Nigerian Army thanked residents of the city for their continuous support and cooperation.
“In view of the recent development within Maiduguri metropolis a 24hr curfew is hearby imposed in the city.
“This is done to protect lives and property of innocent and law abiding people of maiduguri. The Nigerian Army wish to once again thank you for your continuous support and cooperation. The situation is firmly under control,” he stated.
Suspected members of Boko Haram group launched fresh attack on the city of Maiduguri on Wednesday evening.
