New Eskom CEO set for African Utility Week

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – NEWLY-appointed Eskom Chief Executive Officer, Brian Molefe, has been confirmed for the upcoming African Utility Week and Clean Power Africa.
The Acting CEO will make a presentation at the annual event slated for May 12-14 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in South Africa.
Almost 200 top speakers featured are scheduled to participate.
African Utility Week is expected to again attract more than 5 000 power professionals and features 250 exhibitors, 190 speakers, eight conferences, free technical workshops on the expo floor, three high-profile plenary sessions and the coveted industry awards gala.
Attendees will include government representatives, utility heads, the continent’s leading renewable energy project managers, investors and technology providers.
Attendees expected include Jema Nunu Kumba (Minister of Electricity and Dams, South Sudan), John Abdulai Jinapor ( Deputy Minister of Power, Ghana), Carlos Lopes (Executive Secretary, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa), Amos Hochstein (Special Envoy & Coordinator for International Energy Affairs at U.S. Department of State and Mohinder Gulati (Chief Operating Officer, Sustainable Energy for All, Austria).
Other confirmed are Andrew Herscowitz (Coordinator for Power Africa & Trade Africa at U.S. Government), David Walker (CEO, DNV-GL, Netherlands), Mamadou Biteye (Managing Director: Africa, Rockefeller Foundation), Martin Ganda (Africa Investor, Greylock Capital Management, Zimbabwe/USA) and Gisela Kaiser, the Executive Director: Utility Services, City of Cape Town.
