NAIROBI, (CAJ News) – KENYA is confident of repeating the feat attained by the 2014 World 1 500 metre International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) relay-winning team during the event set for Bahamas.

Athletic Kenya (AK) have selected hard running athletes, Eunice Sum, Faith Chepngetich, Janeth Jepkosgei, Mercy Cherono and Agatha Jeruton to the team.

AK believes the newly selected athletes would fit in the shoes of the 2014 Bahamas Golden Girls comprising the quartet of Helen Obiri, Irene Jelagat, Faith Kipyegon and the returning Cherono.

AK President Isaiah Kiplagat announced the strong female relay team saying it was set to bring joy and happiness to the East African nation.

He also emphasised the team selection was based on discipline and patriotism.

“We have made it mandatory that for an athlete to be selected in the national team, they must participate in at least one of our weekend meetings.
