Nedbank Cup semifinalists to be confirmed

JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – THE Nedbank Cup resumes on Friday with the last eight remaining clubs in the 2014/15 edition of the tournament battling out for places in the semi-finals.

The battle starts with a fixture between hosts Ajax Cape Town and Bidvest Wits, last season’s beatene finalists, on Friday evening.

On Saturday afternoon, National First Division rivals, Black Leopards and Vasco da Gama, will play at Thohoyandou Stadium.

In the afternoon, Pretoria-based SuperSport United will host high-flying NFD outfit, Golden Arrows at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Inaugural champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, winners in 2008, will travel to Nelson to play MP Black Aces, ironically the finalists in the same year, at the Mbombela Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Nedbank Cup is said to be the most lucrative cup competition in the continent with winners assured of a cool R7 million, out of a total of R20,3 million, and a place in the continental Confederations Cup.
