NELSPRUIT, (CAJ News) – SOUTH Africa and Nigeria played to a 1-1 draw in an international friendly soccer match played at Mmbombela Stadium, Nelspruit, Mpumalanga on Sunday.

Earlier on, Nigeria had taken the lead through their capatain Ahmed Musa in the 85th minute before Bongani Zungu forced a draw with a late equaliser in the 93rd minute.

Had it not for Andile Jali, whose penalty spot-kick was saved by acrobatic Nigeria goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi, Bafana Bafana could have won the match 2-1.

However, the draw was the fair result considering the manner both teams played their game as they were cautious not to lose.
