DURBAN, (CAJ News) – TWO teenagers have been arrested in Gingindlovu in KwaZulu-Natal in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old boy.

The two suspects aged 18 and 19 were traced and arrested after they were located to a homestead where they were allegedly hiding.

It is alleged that on Tuesday last week, the victim was returning home school with his friends when they were attacked by the learners from another school in the area.

He was stabbed and taken to hospital where he later died.

The deceased’s friends managed to flee without any injuries.

A case of murder was opened at Gingindlovu Police Station.

The suspects will be charged for murder and will appear at Gingindlovu Magistrates’ Court soon.

KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni, commended Gingindlovu police for the arrests.

“We urge parents to work with the police in making sure that their children do not carry dangerous weapons to school and discourage learners from becoming involved in conflicts in the area,” she said.
