Chatsworth woman arrested after drugs haul



CHATSWORTH – A 32-year-old woman has been arrested and drugs to the street value of R120 000 recovered following an operation by the Durban Flying Squad Narcotics Task Team members in Chatsworth.

Drugs recovered at an identified house include 936 pieces of rock cocaine, 300 mandrax tablets and 1 600 straws of heroin.

The woman who was arrested at the house is appearing at the Chatsworth Magistrate’s Court.

The Provincial Commissioner of KwaZulu-Natal, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni, commended the outstanding work by the members who made an arrest and recovered drugs.

“We thank community members for their valuable information they gave to the police that led to the recovery of drugs.

“The police will continue with their fight against drug in the province and this can be achieved by working together with the community who will expose the drug dealers in their areas,” she said.
