NAIROBI, (CAJ News) – ATHLETICS Kenya (AK) is looking forward to local athletes emulating the success of last year when the 2015 the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Relays resumes in Nassau, Bahamas.

The track event is set for May 2-3.

Last year, athletes from the east African nation collected major accolades in both men and women races.

“Kenya did very well in the Bahamas in the first edition of relays and all eyes will be on us again in Nassau.

“Coaches and AK’s technical team have advocated for more events to prepare especially in the new medley event,” reads a statement from AK.

Kenya is making the final selection of the Bahamas World Relays team on March 21.

This year, the IAAF announced relays ranging from five disciplines comprising 4x100m, 4x200m, 4x400m, 4x800m and 1,600m.

Kenya is tipped to win the huge chunk of the relays, especially the 4 x 400m, 4 x 800m and the 1,600m relays categories.

Some 500 athletes from around the world are expected to compete in this year’s relays.
