JOHANNESBURG, (CAJ News) – SOUTH Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL) defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, kick-start the Premiership games with a tricky away encounter against bottom-placed AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Tuesday evening.

Sundowns are placed third on the table with 34 points from 18 matches while their opponents AmaZulu are 16th and anchor the log with nine points from 18 games played.

The Pretoria side is eager to reduce the gap between them and league pacesetters Kaizer Chiefs.

Presently, Sundowns trail Chiefs with 13 points, but the former have two games in hand.

Amazulu are stuck at the bottom and even victory cannot guarantee them safety.

In other midweek games lined-up, Ajax Cape Town will host Chippa United at Cape Town Stadium.

Three crucial matches have been set for the weekend..

University of Pretoria hosts Black Aces on Saturday afternoon at Tuks Stadium in Pretoria while former champions Orlando Pirates entertain Polokwane City at Orlando Stadium.
